Meet Our Team

Kevin Korn, Funeral Director

Kevin came to the Daniel Family of Funeral Homes as a Funeral Director/Embalmer in August of 2011. A native Oregonian, Kevin began his apprenticeship in Salem, Oregon and then attended the Mortuary Science Program at Mt. Hood Community College in Gresham. Kevin has served as a funeral director in the communities of Roseburg, Bandon, Eugene and more recently, Cottage Grove.

Within the funeral profession, he has served on the OFDA as a board member and president. In 2004, Kevin was appointed by the Governor to serve on the Oregon Mortuary & Cemetery Board, serving as president of that organization in 2011 & 2012. He has been involved in the Lions Club organization for over 30 years and finds great satisfaction in helping people regain their sight. Away from work, he enjoys camping, hunting, fishing, riding motorized and non-motorized bikes, skiing and spending time with family.

Kevin says, "In the funeral profession, it is an honor to serve the families we do at one of the worst times in their lives. Over the years, several long lasting friendships have evolved from that service. Working with the family group that is led by Jerome & Dawna is extremely enjoyable."

Mike McNeil, Funeral Director/Embalmer

Mike re-joined the Niswonger-Reynolds staff in July 2014, having previously worked here from 2003 – 2009. Originally from Minnesota, Mike graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1982. He moved to Oregon in 1993, and worked in Astoria until 2003. He is veteran of the US Army. Mike and his wife Shannon have been married for almost 18 years and have five grown children, three grandchildren, two dogs and a cat. After working in California for several years, Mike came back to Bend in July 2014. “We were very happy to have the opportunity to come back to Central Oregon, we really do love this area.” In his free time, Mike enjoys bowling, golf and reading.

Jim Carmichael, Funeral Director

Jim joined the Niswonger-Reynolds staff with a ministerial background. He spent over 25 years as the lead pastor of 3 different churches in Oregon and California. He has a deep sense of compassion and understanding for people experiencing difficult times. With a desire to serve the needs of people, he is here to help you. Jim has been married to his wife, Carol, for over 40 years. They attend Westside Church and have three grown children and two grandchildren. He enjoys snow skiing, water skiing and (especially) fly-fishing.

Sally Smith, Administrative Assistant

Sally Smith is a Central Oregon kid, born in Bend and raised in Prineville. After graduating from high school, she attended college in Portland. She then returned to Central Oregon, where she met her husband, Bill. Sally and Bill, who passed away several years ago, were happily married for 42 years. She has a daughter, son-in-law, and two grandchildren in Bend. Being a Mom was the most wonderful experience she had, until her grandchildren arrived. Now she has a new learning experience to enjoy.

Sally has over 20 years of business administrative experience and likes being able to help families in need. She is a long-standing member of St. Francis Catholic Church. Some of her favorite things, other than her family, are her sheltie Dawn, reading on her deck, going for walks, central Oregon sunshine, and being a watercolor artist.
